Caring for Your Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad sweaters are designed to last a long time.
It all starts with the raw materials. We use imported yarn that has the perfect balance of softness and durability
This yarn, once knitted, is something you have to experience in person. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but they should say a touch of the hand is worth a thousand pictures.
And knitting our designs means that the design is not just a simple print—it is the sweater itself.
This is great, but because it’s knitted, it does have one weakness:
Your Feliz Navidad will require some care—it’s not Iron Man’s armor.
Situations NOT covered by the warranty & how to fix them:
1. Washing
As long as you wash it carefully, your Feliz Navidad won’t shrink or fade.
We say this from experience—we’ve been wearing our own Feliz Navidad sweaters for years, and they stay in excellent condition after years and years of use and washing.
We recommend hand washing with cold water and white soap.
To dry it: squeeze out excess water, turn it inside out, and lay it flat in the sun.
DO NOT: wash with hot water, put it in a dryer, iron it, or hang it to dry.
2. Snagged Threads
This happens when a sharp object comes into contact with your Feliz Navidad and catches on the fabric.
Examples: necklaces, rings, keychains, or your pet’s "affectionate" touch.
How to prevent it
On the days you wear a Feliz Navidad (amazing days), try to avoid necklaces or rings with sharp edges that could catch on the sweater.
Snagged a thread? Easy fix:
Fixing a snagged thread is super easy. Don’t stress if it happens.
If you don’t know anyone who can fix it with a needle, we can help—just visit any of our stores :)
3. Stretching or Shrinking
Our Feliz Navidad sweaters don’t stretch or shrink. They only mold to your body over time, just like a pair of jeans.
The only way they can become misshapen is through heat sources like hot water, a dryer, an iron, or hanging it vertically for long periods of time.
How to prevent it
Keep it away from hot water, dryers, and irons. Always dry it flat, not hanging.
4. Pilling
Of all potential issues, this is the least serious.
It’s a phenomenon that happens with all garments, especially knitted ones.
It occurs when the fabric’s fibers are rubbed with pressure over a long period of time.
How to prevent it
Don’t use your Feliz Navidad as pajamas.
The weight of your body in bed creates pressure, and when you change positions while sleeping, you create friction.
If this happens repeatedly over multiple nights, pilling may appear.
The same can happen if you wear your Feliz Navidad while hiking with a heavy backpack. The weight of the backpack and your back create a "sandwich effect" with the Feliz Navidad. Imagine pressing two pieces of bread together and rubbing them—well, that’s what your Feliz Navidad has to endure during the hike. Your sweater might come out of that experience with a few pills on the lower back where the backpack rested.
How to fix it
As we said, of all the risks, this is the least serious. It’s a "battle scar" and part of wearing a garment. It’s similar to the crease that forms on the toe of a sneaker after you start wearing it.
If you still want to fix it, you can do so with a fabric shaver.
